What we collect

  • Quiz answers and the results we calculate from them.
  • Email address and ZIP code, which you enter to see your results.
  • Phone number, only if you choose to give it.
  • Session requests: your name, contact details, and what you're deciding, if you ask to book a one-on-one session.
  • Usage data through Google Analytics, such as pages visited and quiz progress. Google Analytics uses cookies.

How we use it

  • To show you your results and keep them available at your private results link.
  • To find schools near your ZIP code that match your results.
  • To email you your results and occasional resources about choosing a school. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To improve the quiz and the site.

Who else sees it

We use a few service providers to run AlignEd:

  • Anthropic (Claude) researches schools near you. We send it only your ZIP code and search radius, never your name, email, or phone.
  • Our email provider delivers your results email.
  • Our hosting and database providers store the site and your responses.
  • Google Analytics measures how the site is used.

We don't currently share your contact information with schools. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for your permission first.

Your results link

Your results page has a hard-to-guess link. Anyone you share it with can see your quiz results and the schools near your ZIP code, but not your email or phone number.

Comparing with a partner

If you take the quiz from someone's compare link, your results and your first-choice answers will appear on their results page, and theirs on yours. Your email and phone number are never shown.

Session requests

If you request a one-on-one session, we keep your name, contact details, and what you wrote so we can prepare for the call. If you came from your results page, your quiz results are attached to the request. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your card details.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information you've given us.

Children

AlignEd is meant for parents and guardians. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
